Smoke and Mirrors

Have you ever been inside of your home or business' attic space? It is an interesting place. Most homes in southern California do not have a space large enough to walk in like houses do in other parts of the country, but some do and most have at least a few feet of clearance. Some businesses have plenty of space to move around in, but most are similar to houses.
One of the things you will find in your residential attic space is insulation. It is typically a shade of pink but depending on what type it is, it may be other colors. It is hard to miss, regardless of the color. It is characterized by its fluffy appearance. Insulation is used to help keep homes cool or warm in summer and winter, respectively. Unfortunately, during fires, it can also trap smoke smells.
If your home has experienced a fire, there is a good chance the smell will linger. Part of the reason for that is smoke being absorbed into walls and insulation.
If this happens, call SERVPRO of Walnut. We have over ten years of experience with deodorizing and replacing fire-damaged materials to get your home back to preloss conditions. After all, nobody wants to smell smoke forever.
